INTERNATIONAL
GYMNAST MOVES FROM 2 TO 3 DIMENSIONAL
It is with great pleasure that I announce that International Gymnast
magazine will be the first to distribute a digital version of its
magazine. Yes, for the next several months, at no charge, you can
read the latest complete issue of IG magazine online! Our December
issue is available right now. The October issue, which was our acclaimed
coverage of the Stuttgart World Championships, also can be viewed
as an archived issue. We will offer the January/February (one of
our two annual double month issues) online at no charge too.
Please
take this opportunity to sample the quality of the magazine that
has brought the entire gymnastics community the best and most accurate
coverage of the beautiful sport of gymnastics for the past 51 years.
No gymnastics entity has a richer history, or more complete library,
covering gymnastics, as does IG! We have been the leader in our
industry, and we plan to remain the leader.
As
you can see, International Gymnast will now be available in 3 ways-our
printed magazine, our digital magazine and our IG Online. Three
ways to keep you better informed about gymnastics globally.
Enjoy
IG in its new digital format!
Happy
Holidays from our entire IG family!

WOMEN'S
ARTISTIC - GYMNASTS TURN TO ROWING FOR OLYMPIC PREPARATION
In
their first training camp to kick start their Olympic preparation,
the womens' AIS/GA Olympic Squad looked for guidance from another
Olympic sport - Rowing.
As
part of their physical preparation program as well as a team building
exercise, the National Coach Peggy Liddick organised a rowing session
for the girls during their training camp at the AIS this month.
ANU
rowing coach and ACT Rowing Association Development Officer, James
Macartney was impressed with how quickly the athletes learnt how
to use the oars, take to the water in their rowing shells and participate
as a crew in short races with each other.
The
rowing experience was appreciated by the girls who enjoyed getting
out of the gym and trying their hand at another sport.
Is
this another example of Gymnastics being the "foundation of
all sport"

CCUSA
- JOB FAIRS
Every year, CCUSA bring up to 50 camp directors from the USA to
meet their Aussie staff. They will interview you, find out what
you can offer them and they get to make their own decisions there
and then! It's a wonderful way for you to "Sell" yourself.
Jacqui
Dunn, Australian gymnastic representative at the 1999, 2001 and
2003 World Championships and the 2002 Commonwealth Games did exactly
this. Last February, she decided she wanted to have the best summer
of her life and went to our Adelaide Job Fair. There, she visited
a number of camps and decided that she would take a position in
a traditional style camp called Kenmont and Kenwood Camps in Connecticut
about 2 hours east of New York City.
She
got to work with another 60 staff hired from all over the world
with CCUSA from countries like Denmark, England, New Zealand, Scotland,
South Africa and Poland, just to name a few. It was a wonderful
experience and she's made many more friends from all over the world.
The
Job fairs are being held in the following cities;
PERTH

Sunday, February 10, 2008

The CCUSA Job Fairs are also a great way to meet other staff going
to your camp. Once placement is confirmed, you can start your travel
plans nice and early, travel with others and plan additional tours
after camp.
