Kate Sayer Headed To Stuttgart For World Championships

With the 2019 FIG World Championships now only a few weeks away, Gymnastics Australia today announces that Kate Sayer has been selected to represent Australia at the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics event.

Sayer’s addition to the team was made late Monday in Canberra after young talent Breanna Scott was forced to withdraw from the team as a result of a leg injury.

The 49th edition of the FIG World Championships will be the first time Sayer has competed at the event and she will join the team as they travel to Switzerland for pre-tournament preparation before arriving into Germany in late September.

Sayer has gained more and more international experience having recently, having competed against some of the best in the world at the Youth Olympics in 2018 as well as the Melbourne World Cup and Gymnix in Montreal earlier this year.

The Australian athletes will begin competition on October 4.

Gymnastics Australia would like to wish Kate all the best for her World Championship campaign and wish Brenna Scott a speedy recovery.
