Workers Compensation Insurance is not only a National Affiliation Requirement but is compulsory Insurance for the majority of Australian employers (few exemptions apply).
The Gymnastics Australia National Risk Protection Program through JLT does not cover Workers Compensation and therefore Clubs are required to source their own Workers Compensation Insurance, either through JLT or another insurer.
Workers Compensation Insurance aims to provide monetary and other compensation for workers injured at work or suffering an illness arising from work. Clubs as employers must comply with the State, Territory or Commonwealth legislation which applies to them. Each State/Territory and the Commonwealth have separate workers compensation legislation.
