Advanced Silver Coach Accreditation

The Advanced Silver Coach Accreditation provides a coach with the skills and knowledge to coach athletes up to state and/or national level and with the potential to support gymnasts on the pathway to international competition.

Upcoming FIG Level 2 MAG and WAG Academy Program

Gymnastics Australia can now confirm the following dates for the FIG Level 2 Academy Coaching courses for MAG and WAG. These courses will be held at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra from Thursday December 14th to Friday December 22nd.

Application Form

The application form is coming soon. When submitting yours form you will be required to attach a copy of your passport and a passport sized photo. In addition a $250 non-refundable course deposit is payable per application. (This fee will be deducted from the final amount). Further information is provided within the form.

 Who should apply?

This course is most suited to coaches who have extensive experience working at Australian Levels 7 to 10 or equivalent. To gain this experience it is expected that the coach will have gained knowledge through appropriate professional development and learning. There is no requirement in the GA Framework for a coach to hold an Advanced Silver Accreditation with the exception of some events at competition from 2017 (International and Level 10 – see Appendix 2 of the Coach Education Framework and Accreditation Policy).  

Please be advised to be eligible to gain an Advanced Silver Coach Accreditation candidates will need to achieve 80% or above in the Theory Exam and 80% or above in the Practical Presentation as well as be deemed competent during practical lectures. If a candidate already holds an Advanced Silver Accreditation course results will not affect this accreditation.

Course Cost

The course cost is to be advised. This is set by FIG. It is expected to be in the region of A$1500 – 1700.
